Public Forum Debate is a team event that advocates or rejects a position posed by the resolution. As you may gather from the name, this form of debate focuses on a clash of ideas that can be understood by the general public or the “citizen judge”. Public Forum Debate is a new form of debate that attempts to bring concepts of policy debate into a more accessible format. In Public Forum, the debate centers on the resolution instead of a plan that represents the resolution’s intent. Topics are changed each month and are always something timely, so students in Public Forum will gain a plethora of knowledge on a multitude of topics.
