The Alabama Statewide High School Mathematics Contest is held annually and consists of two parts:

  • There are three Alabama State Written Examination curricula: Geometry, Algebra II/Trigonometry, and Comprehensive (for students beyond Alg II/Trig). These exams are 50 problem multiple choice tests.
  • High scoring teams from the written round are invited to compete in the State Ciphering event where students are challenged to quickly solve problems. A state champion is crowned each year.
